Patna | RJD supremo Lalu Prasad today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had no knowledge of the Constitution and that was the reason behind his allegations against grand alliance leaders ”conspiring to introduce reservation facilities on religious lines.”
Mr Prasad, after casting his vote along with wife and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, daughter Misa Bharti, told mediapersons here that Mr Modi was talking rubbish about alleged attempt of grand alliance to provide reservation on the basis of religion, after withdrawal of some percentage of existing quota for SCs, STs and Backwards.
Mr Modi has no knowledge about provisions of the Constitution regarding reservation, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader said, adding how reservation could be extended to a new cluster on the basis of religion, if there was no such provision in the Constitution.
Even the Supreme Court has ruled that provision for reservation on the basis of religion can not be made, Mr Prasad said, adding that there was no question of religion-based reservation, if the apex court had given verdict against it.
The RJD leader said there was strong wave in favour of the grand alliance in the ongoing Bihar assembly elections, which had made Mr Modi desperate following which he was abusing the alliance leaders at every meeting.
