Gopalganj | Prime Minister Narendra Modi today dared Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to counter his charges on the sinister design to withdraw a certain percentage of reservation quota from SCs, STs and Backwards and pass it on to new beneficiaries on religious lines.
Mr Modi, sticking to his earlier claim that the grand alliance leaders were conspiring to withdraw a portion of existing reservation quota for SC, ST and Backward classes, challenged Mr Kumar to come out with his reply, waving a copy of speech made by him in Parliament on August 24, 2005, suggesting quota on religious lines.
The Prime Minister, addressing a meeting at Danapur Maidan, said the grand alliance leaders were uttering white lies about having not made any sort of attempt to introduce reservation on communal lines. I stand by my allegation against Mr Kumar and he should come out in open on the issue if he has courage, Mr Modi said.
The Prime Minister said that when he earlier raised the issue of development in campaign for Bihar assembly elections, grand alliance leaders used to talk about reservation but they stood exposed on the issue.
