Srinagar | Jammu and Kashmir would get its first handicrafts museum over one and a half acres of land at the exhibition ground in the heart of summer capital here.
Asgar Hassan Samoon, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, has asked the concerned officials to devise a concept plan for converting old educational structure and adjacent land available at exhibition ground Srinagar into a handicrafts museum, an officials said.
He said Samoon was addressing a meeting here to discuss usage of unused land and building near the exhibition ground, who also asked officials to keep into account the ambiance while devising the plan for the museum.
The Divisional Commissioner asked the tourism department to submit a concept plan within a week for converting the heritage building into the museum. Samoon also asked the officials to remove unauthorized mini bus stand and vehicle parking from the area and demarcate the entire property.
