Delhi to host crime writers’ festival in January

New Delhi | Noted crime writers, journalists and filmmakers from around the world will congregate here next month for a rare cause – dissect the crime writing scene in India and abroad and analyse its moral implications in society.

An initiative of the Crime Writer’s Forum for South Asia, the Hindustan Times Crime Writers Festival 2016 will be held on January 16 and 17 with Namita Gokhale and Kishwar Desai its directors, Alka Pande creative director, and Priti Paul and Ashwin Sanghi the festival advisers.

Oxford Bookstore, where the festival will be held, and Siyahi are the co-producers. Fiction and non-fiction in literature and film will be under the scanner, and your counter-mission is to catch them red-handed, the organisers say.

The participants include British author Kathryn Harkup, French author Veronique Ovalde, Scottish crime festival director Dom Hastings, Swedish author Zac O’Yeah, Israeli authors Dror a. Mishani and Liad Shoham, Italian author Gianrico Carofiglio, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and Indian authors Amit Khan, Avirook Sen, Jerry Pinto, Piyush Jha and Ravi Subramanian among others.
