New Delhi | Actor-turned politician Innocent on Monday brought into the notice of the Loksabha the exploitation by private hospitals in the country.
The MP from Chalakkudy, who recovered from cancer attack for the second time, called on the government to take action to curtail wrong trends being followed by hospitals.
He said that some hospitals are charging 2-3 times for life-saving medicines.
There is a business-minded nexus between doctors and hospital authorities, where targets are fixed for the number of surgeries to be carried out every month, irrespective of the need for the same, Innocent pointed out.
