India reaches 100 in 21 overs after losing Shikhar Dhawan

Brisbane | India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat in the second cricket one-dayer against Australia here Friday.

It was a repeat of the Indian start in the first ODI in Perth, as the visitors lost the early wicket of opener Shikhar Dhawan, and the second wicket partnership of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma doing the repair work.

Joel Paris got his first ODI wicket having Dhawan caught behind for 6 with just nine runs on the Indian score board. India reached 100 in 21 overs without further loss. Sharma was batting on 52 and Kohli on 44.

The Indian think-tank has made one change from the previous loss against the hosts with Ishant Sharma added to the XI in place of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Steven Smith’s sides goes in with three changes as David Warner, Mitchell Marsh and Josh Hazlewood make way for Shaun Marsh, John Hastings and Kane Richardson.
