London | Singer Alice Cooper hates having a mobile phone and finds himself losing his at least twice a day. The ‘Poison’ hitmaker, 67, started his rock career at a time when people were free of electronic devices and mobile telephones were a feature of science fiction and has now said he hates being tied down to his, which is why he misplaces it every single day.
I lose my phone probably twice a day and it’s because I really don’t like it. I don’t like the idea that you’re locked into this thing which your whole world revolves around.
Cooper, however, accepts he can’t get away without actually having a phone because his wife Sheryl Goddard, whom he has been married to since 1976 and has three grown-up children with, would be left wondering where he is all the time.
He only carries a basic device as he doesn’t need it for anything other than making calls. I just carry a little flip-phone to call my wife and kids or my road manager, he said.
