Thiruvananthapuram | The government has decided to raise the honorarium of pre-primary school teachers and helpers to Rs. 9000 and Rs. 6000 respectively.
At a news conference Wednesday, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said a cabinet meeting gave approval to pay a financial aid of Rs. 2000 each to those affected by the sickle disease.
Dhanashree lottery will be renamed Sthreeshakthi lottery. The price of the lottery ticket will be increased to 50 rupees. The government aims to garner an additional Rs. 100 crore from this, which will be utilized for women’s welfare schemes.
Buds schools with strength of at least 25 students also will be granted aided status.
The government will give Rs. 4 lakhs to Shruti, an endosulfan-affected girl, as assistance for higher studies, the CM told reporters.
