Kollam | Bharat Dharmajanasena leader Tushar Vellappally has contradicted Vellappaly Natesan’s claim that he held talks with LDF and UDF leaders in view of the Assembly elections.
BDJS so far held no talks with either of the fronts, Tushar Vellappally said Thursday. He made it clear that the new party is not ready to compromise on ideals.
Tushar, the son of Vellappaly Natesan, added that BDJS has not given any assurance that it will become part of any front.
Vellappally Natesan on Wednesday had indicated a change of attitude regarding Bharat Dharmajanasena’s policy on political alliance ahead of the Assembly elections.
Vellappaly had said that the new political outfit does not have untouchability with any party.
“The days of principles-based politics are over. Now it’s more practical to adopt a line of opportunistic politics and slogans,” he told reporters in Kollam.
But Tushar says his father, who is also the SNDP Yogam General Secretary, usually does not interfere in BDJS affairs.
Tushar made it clear that he is the BDJS president, and the aim is to strengthen the party.
A notification was given in newspapers for party’s registration during the Samathwa Munnetta Yaathra. Subhash Vasu was in charge of party matters at that time. And that is why his name appeared in the ad as party president, Tushar added.
