Thiruvananthapuram | CPI State Secretary Kanam Rajendran has said that LDF doesn’t fear it will face a backlash in the upcoming Assembly elections over its stand against alcohol ban.
He retorted to KCBC’s charge that the policy of promoting abstention from alcohol is a gimmick by challenging the bishops’ conference if they will demand alcohol ban in Goa and Mizoram.
Addressing a public meeting in Thiruvananthapuram at the end of CPI’s election campaign tour — ‘Janakeeya Yaathra’ – Kaanam said his party has a realistic approach towards social issues.
He pointed out that liquor is widely available in Attappaadi, where alcohol ban is imposed.
