When the Kerala State Film Awards were announced on Tuesday, no one would have been so happier than Prem Prakash, who won the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in ‘Nirnayakam,’ a movie penned by his sons Bobby and Sanjay.
On his character in ‘Nirnayakam,’ the actor said he took up the role after being persuaded by his sons. The first time he is honoured by the best supporting actor film award. Earlier, he had won awards for production venture.
Prem Prakash, younger brother of the late actor of yesterdays Jose Prakash, had earlier bagged the State Television Award for best actor twice, for serials made on scripts written by his sons.
Even though he is a proud father to be honoured by the award for the script of his beloved sons, he is dedicating the award to his late brother Jose Prakash, “It might be his silent prayers that helped me to win this award. It was he who brought me to the world of films and what I am today is just because of him,” emotionally Prem Prakash said.
As usual he had been watching television, when the awards were announced. He did not conceal his excitement over winning the award for a movie scripted by his sons.
The makeup artist Rajesh Nenmara also won the state award for doing make up for Adv. Siddharth, the character of Prem Prakash in the film, ‘Nirnayakam’. “Actually, it is a heavy task of hardly 3 hours. The make up of Rajesh on me, did wonders. Indeed, glad to hear the news that Rajesh won the award and he deserved that”, said Prem Praksh.
