New Delhi | The CPI (M)-led Left Democratic Front may return to power in Kerala, winning 89 seats in the Assembly polls, says an opinion poll conducted by CVoter- India TV.
LDF had won 66 seats in the 140-member House five years ago.
The results of the survey, telecast on India TV Friday, show that United Democratic Front will win 49 seats, compared to 72 seats it won in 2011, while BJP-led NDA is projected to win one seat, and ‘Others’ one.
Vote percentage wise, LDF is projected to get 44.6 percent, up by one per cent, while UDF is projected to get 39.1 percent, down from 45.8 percent it won last time.
The opinion poll was conducted in the first week of March, ahead of Friday’s announcement of election schedule for 5 state assemblies.
The opinion poll also says that Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress may retain power in West Bengal, while In Tamil Nadu, the AIADMK, which is locked in a fierce contest with Karunanidhi’s DMK, may fall two seats short of majority.
