New Delhi | Posters have appeared in the national capital offering a reward of Rs 11 lakhs to anyone who kills JNU Students Union President Kanhayya Kumar.
The posters are pasted on the walls near New Delhi Press Club in the name of Amit Kumar, leader of Poorvaanchal Sena, a pro-Sanghaparivar organization.
Meanwhile, a Bharatiya Yuva Morcha leader announced a reward of Rs 5 lakhs for slitting Kanhayya’s tongue. Kuldip Varshni, a local leader of Yuva Morcha, criticized Kanhayya for speaking against Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he was released on bail.
Returning to JNU campus Thursday on his release from jail three weeks after his arrest, the university’s students’ union leader said they are seeking freedom within the country and not from India, as he hurled barbs at Modi.
Addressing students at the campus Thursday night, 29-year-old Kumar, who has been slapped with sedition charge for allegedly raising anti-national slogans, said he had many differences with the prime minister but he agreed with his tweet Satyameva Jayate which he had posted in praise of HRD Minister Smriti Irani’s fiery speech in Lok Sabha on the JNU row as it is in the Constitution.
