Chalakkudy | The death of noted film star Kalabhavan Mani was not unnatural, the special police team probing the circumstances that led to his death says in its initial assumption.
Police have reached the assumption based on statements of witnesses and autopsy report.
The investigation team was quoted as saying on Tuesday that Mani was suffering from acute liver disease, and continued consumption of alcohol despite medical advice could have made things worse.
Mani’s liver was extremely damaged and infected, doctors who attended him on hospitalization had reported.
The special police team headed by K. Sudarsanan, DySP, Thrissur administration, is awaiting a report from Forensic Lab in Kakkanad where Mani’s internal organs were sent for analysis.
Earlier, police had sealed an outhouse in Chalakkudy, where Kalabhavan Mani was found unconscious. Dog squad and forensic experts had a close look at Mani’s outhouse named “Paadi”, on the shores of Chalakkudy River, which has been put under special surveillance by the police.
Doctors had deposed before police that intoxicants, including poisonous content
Methyne alcohole, were found in Mani’s body. Methyne alcohole is found in spurious liquor.
