Thiruvananthapuram | City Mayor V.K. Prashant and fellow councilors have staged a sit-in-protest outside the Chief Minister’s office Tuesday demanding trashing of city development master plan.

The Mayor said the Corporation Council will not accept the government’s supplementary order related to the master plan.

He had said the other day that the government order is vague. It led to strong protests.

The Chief Minister had convened a meeting in this context. He assured the people and their representatives that the issue will be solved by making necessary amendments in the order.

But after the Assembly elections were announced, the CM issued the second order in haste without conducting any review of the original order, triggering controversy.

16 persons were injured in a clash between workers of BJP and CPI-M at Kattayikonam Monday over the master plan.
