Kochi: The second phase of trial run of the Kochi metro rail was successfully completed Monday.
A train, carrying around 60 officials of Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) and DMRC, ran between Muttom yard in Aluva and Edappally.
The train covered a distance of 6 kilometers between the two destinations up and down three times each.
It started at a speed of 10 km/h, and gradually increased to various speeds of 15 kmh, 20 kmh, and 25-30 kmh.
Automatic train operation system was tested this time.
KMRL, DMRC officials said they are fully satisfied with the operations today.
