Chalakkudy | Police have released from custody three close aides of Kalabhavan Mani after questioning them for more than a week in connection with the actor’s death.
Mani’s associates — Arun, Vipin and Murugan were released on strict conditions, including not to speak to media, and to report before police every morning.
Police received not much evidence from them to prove if Mani committed suicide or it was a homicide. The noted film actor collapsed after hosting an alcohol party at his outhouse named ‘Paadi’. The statements from the three aides, who were in ‘Paadi’ from 8.30 p.m. on March 4 to 2 p.m. on March 5, were identical, reports quoting police said.
Meanwhile, state DGP has reportedly directed that a special medical team be formed for further investigation in to the cause of Mani’s death due to the contradiction in forensic and post mortem reports.
