Kottayam | Kerala Congress (Secular) leader P.C. George has lashed out at CPM leadership over denying him a seat as part of LDF in the upcoming Assembly polls.
At a news conference here Tuesday, he said he feels betrayed by the LDF decision.
He made it clear that he will not name those who are behind denying his entry to LDF.
He alleged that Poonjar is a payment seat to Kerala Congress (Democratic). The party will not get even 200 votes in any of the constituencies in Kottayam, he added.
P.C. George, who has been a critic of UDF until recently, told reporters that he will file nomination from Poonjar as a candidate of the people on April 22, after which he will take a political decision, and announce his party’s new policy.
The people of Poonjar are with me, he told reporters.
He recalled that he campaigned for CPM during local body elections in Kannoor, which attracted crowds.
Replying to a question, George said Kanjirappally bishop Mathew Arackal is a good friend of him, and has good opinion about him.
“God is close to those who are broken hearted,” he quoted from the Bible during the news conference.
The defeat of K.M. Mani is the need of the hour, according to George.
