Muvattupuzha | Kerala Congress (Jacob) chairman Johnny Nelloor has made a scathing attack against Congress leadership after it was made clear that the party will not get a second seat, i.e., Ankamali, in the upcoming Kerala Assembly polls.
After being a UDF ally all these years, Congress was cheating the party, Johny told media here Friday. It was the biggest betrayal in the world, according to the dissatisfied party leader.
When congress leaders shied away from corruption allegations, we fought for the government and UDF, Johny said.
In an apparent sign that he is ready to join the rival camp, Johny said he is not running away from politics, and that he has no enmity towards any front.
An emergency meeting of party leadership has been convened for 3 pm today in Muvattupuzha.
He recalled that the first time he contested an Assembly election was in 1980 in LDF ticket.
Johnny Nelloor was the UDF candidate in Ankamali in the 2011 Assembly election. But UDF convener PP Thankachan has informed Johny that only one seat can be allotted to Kerala Congress (Jacob) for the time being. That is Piravom, where party leader Anoop Jacob successfully contested the election last time, and became Minister.
Johnny had resigned as chairman of Oushadhi last month in protest against insult the party faced in seat sharing talks.
