New Delhi | Janata Dal(U) today attacked the Centre over Pakistani JIT reportedly putting the blame on India for Pathankot terror attack saying it was a slap on the face the country for which Narendra Modi dispensation is responsible.

It is a matter of shame for our country that the report of Joint Investigation Team (JIT) constituted to investigate Pathankot terror attack is reported to have stated that India had staged the drama. As a citizen of this country, my first question is that whether any country in the world would allow the investigation team of another country to come and investigate the terrorist attack.

The answer is no and this has never happened in any country of the world, party President Sharad Yadav said in a statement. He said ours is a government which has allowed such a team to investigate and that team has slapped on us. I do not understand as to who is advising such actions to the high command in this country.

This action of the government was not advisable at all and not only we have shown our weakness but also they have made fool of us, Yadav said. Holding that a lot of maturity is required in taking high- level decisions concerning foreign policy, Yadav said the development is not only an insult of the BJP-led government but that of 125 crore Indians.

He said while he is in favour of continuance of talks with Pakistan as this is the only way to bring peace in both the countries, efforts for having good relations with the neighbouring countries cannot be at the cost of dignity and respect of our people.

We have established one after the other expert agencies such as IB, RAW, NIA, Police, Army and so on but to allow the agencies of other countries to investigate such attacks is demoralisation and insult of the personnel of our agencies. Government has to make it clear that either they do not have confidence in our own agencies or there was something else behind such a step, Yadav said.
