Major fire at Puttingal temple in Kollam, over 105 dead, 350 injured

Kollam | A huge fire took place at Putingal temple here at early morning around 3:30 am. Over hundred injured and 105 people dead till now, police officials said.

The fire broke out at early morning leaving at least one hundred six people dead and and 350 injured, local media said quoting police officials.

The fire could have been took place due to a blast in the firework stockpile, readied for the temple celebrations. The police had earlier warned temple authorities to restrict usage of fireworks.

The damage yet has been immense and the areas in an around the temple has been badly damaged. Government is still measuring how much damage has caused so far.

All the private and public hospitals in and around kollam is given instruction to be filled in with doctors so that patients won’t face any problem. Emergency steps are under process to eavcuate the injured.

People died are not in an identifiable condition, very few people are identifiable. It is going to be a huge challenge for the government.
