Thiruvananathapuram | Kerala Chief Minister Oomen Chandy has said that no more bar license will be granted to 5-star hotels for the remainder of this government’s term.

Also, 3-4 star hotels converted into 5-star will not get bar license.

Granting bar license to 5 star hotels will be subject to strict conditions.

These are the major changes in the liquor policy of the UDF, Oomen Chandy said while releasing its election manifesto at Cliff House Wednesday.

UDF, which targets a liquor-free state by 2026, promises house for all home-less families if it is voted to power in the next term.

“Food, house and health for all” is the UDF slogan.

UDF also offers housing loan for middle class people at low interest rate, and subsidized interest rate for agriculture loans.

Oommen Chandy said Kerala Congress (Jacob) Chairman Johny Nelloor has been appointed as the Secretary of UDF.
