Thiruvananthapuram | NDA has created history in the history of Kerala Assembly elections by opening its account in the 140-member house for the first time.

In an unprecedented development, the BJP-led alliance, which had fielded candidates in all constituencies, came second in six seats, and increased its vote share in many.

Former Union Minister O Rajagopal won with a lead of over 8000 votes from Nemom, pushing back V Sivankutty, sitting MLA, to second spot. UDF candidate Surendran Pillai finished at third place.

BJP state President Kummanam Rajasekharan lost to K. Muralidharan in Vattiyoorkav by 7622 votes.

BJP lost a possible second seat between lip and cup in Manjeshwaram, when K Surendran lost by a margin of less than 100 votes to Abdul Razack of UDF.
