Thiruvananthapuram | KPCC President V M Sudheeran has said that a detailed discussion on the reason for the dismal performance of Congress in the May 16 Assembly polls in Kerala would be held without delay. A meeting would be held on June 4 and 5 to find out the reasons for the UDF defeat, he told reporters here Monday.
He said KPCC met in the presence of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala to discuss the poll debacle.
Criticising the violence unleashed by the CPI(M) and BJP workers after the poll results, he claimed 142 incidents of violence had been reported from various parts of the state and stern action should be taken against those responsible for it.
Sudheeran pledged that the Congress-led UDF, which was routed in the election, would function as a constructive opposition.
The CPI(M) led-LDF government, which is to be sworn in on May 25, will be given full support, Sudheeran said, adding that “We will follow the opposition dharma.”
