Governor in policy speech says Govt. committed to corruption free governance

Thiruvananthapuram | The budget session of the new LDF Government got off to a start Friday with Governor P. Sadasivam delivering the policy speech on behalf of the Government.

The Pinarayi Vijayan-led government, which came to power on the strength of its anti-corruption campaign, has made it clear that it is committed to implement corruption free governance.

The Governor announced that a new Department for the welfare of Women and Children will be established.

25 lakh new job opportunities will be created.

He pledged interest free loans to eligible small scale farmers.

Primary health centers will be renamed Family health centers.

Taluk and District hospitals will be upgraded to provide super-specialty services.

All Medical Colleges in the state will be elevated to Centers of Excellence, and at least two of them will be converted into Institute of Medical Science.

The Government plans 1500 Start-up projects.

Prices of commodities will be put under check.

There will be no hike in prices of 13 subsidized commodities sold through Maveli Stores.
