Thiruvananthapuram | Kerala’s Finance Minister Thomas Isaac has said that no special cess or new tax will be introduced in the upcoming state budget for FY 2016-17.

The previous government has increased it heavily. And the current government’s effort is to collect it, he told a private TV news channel.

He hinted that tax rebates to big-shots given during the UDF Government’s tenure will be reconsidered.

The anomaly in registration tax will be rectified.

The Minister assured that Vat rate will not be hiked.

He expressed confidence that tax revenue can be improved by making tax collection more efficient.
