Kollam | Trains on the Kollam-Thiruvananthapuram sector are running late after a crack was detected on the railway Track at Punnamoodu railway gate near Varkala Friday morning.
Following this one-way traffic to Thiruvananthapuram was affected.
After the crack was found, many trains including Thiruvananthapuram-Kollam passenger were held up in Varkkala. After temporary repair of the broken track, trains were allowed to pass through in reduced speed.
Currently, trains are running in 30 km/hr speed in this sector.
Only after the maintenance work is completed by the railway engineering department, the trains will be running in full speed, railway authorities said.
