Fiat has introduced the Urban Cross in India. The manufacturer has scheduled the price of the model is near about Rs 6.85 lakh while the top-spec Abarth-powered model costs Rs 9.85 lakh.
The car was first exhibited at Auto Expo in February 2016. The car has many resemblances with the Avventura, but with this model the spare wheel is now placed in the conventional location in the boot, like in the Punto.
The Fiat Urban Cross is available both in diesel as well as petrol engine options. Both the engines are paired with five-speed manual transmissions. The diesel engine is a 93hp 1.3-litre Multijet engine, while on the other hand, the petrol motor is the more strong and powerful 142hp 1.4-litre T-Jet engine.
The diesel Urban Cross usually comes in two variants – Active and Dynamic – whereas the petrol is available only in the Emotion variant.
Fiat is integrating a Smartech 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and Bluetooth as standard across all its variants. The Urban Cross Emotion and dynamic trims get premium burgundy interior with colour-coordinated door inserts, piano black finish door armrests and seats because of the festive season.
With the new Urban Cross, Fiat is aiming to expand its cross-hatch portfolio. The car will be competing against the Cross Polo, the i20 Active and the Etios Cross.
