Thane | A man was booked for allegedly killing his wife and later dumping it inside a bag at his house in a village in Ulhasnagar here, police said today.
The incident took place on November 18 at Achole where the accused, identified as Rajesh Khan allegedly killed his wife and stacked the body in a bag, a police spokesperson said.
Khan first met his friend Shafiullah Shiakh (35) in the day and handed him over key of his house saying that he is going out to look out for his wife, who hasn’t return home.
Later, in the night, he called Shaikh and told him to dispose the body of his wife dumped inside a bag, the officer said.
The body was recovered the next day by Vitthalwadi police and was sent for postmortem. The body bore multiple injuries and strangulation marks.
A case was lodged against Khan under IPC sections 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt).
The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, while the hunt was on to nab the accused, police added.
