Not everyone hits fashion high notes at American Music awards red carpet

A handful of stars need to sack their stylists after falling flat on the American Music Awards red carpet in Los Angeles on Sunday night. Some of music’s biggest names gathered together at the Microsoft Theatre to watch Adele battle it out with Drake, Rihanna and Justin Bieber for honours.

But not everyone hit the fashion high notes, including Tinashe, Bella Thorne, Olivia Munn and others. Former Disney star Bella’s style is usually on point, but her black blazer and trouser combo left a lot to be desired.

The star was showing off her slim tummy and a black bra underneath the unbuttoned jacket. The look wasn’t helped by her bright neon green hair.Tinashe was also leaving little to the imagination in a black body suit and flowing skirt that featured a huge split down the middle revealing her bare legs.

Frozen star Idina Menzel also opted for the sheer, naked look, as she exposed her bottom half in the floor-skimming design. Actress Olivia Munn bucked all trends and opted for a very short floral dress that showed off plenty of cleavage and leg – and was probably more suited for a day at the beach.Supermodel Karlie Kloss also failed to impress in a lacklustre black and white asymmetrical look.

On the night, former One Direction member Niall Horan was one of the first to take to the stage to sing his debut solo single This Town, while British singer James Bay performed Let It Go.

Canadian rapper Drake won favourite rap/hip hop album for Views, which was certified triple-platinum earlier this year. Collecting his award, he said: “I want to thank the city of Toronto and of course I want to thank the fans and my parents. My dad is here tonight. Thank you so much, it means a lot.”
