New Delhi | Lok Sabha will not sit tomorrow as a mark of respect to the late member and IUML leader E Ahamed.

This was announced by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan Wednesday as the House convened for the budget session.

In response to a demand that the House should not assemble today to pay homage to the late parliamentarian, the Speaker said the Union Budget for 2017-18 will be presented in the Lok Sabha as scheduled today as it is a constitutional obligation.

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge criticised the government for proceeding with the presentation of the Union Budget after the death of E Ahamed, accusing it of delaying announcement of the news so that it could present the Budget without any hiccups.
