Kochi | Uncertainty about who will play the lead role of Aami is over with the director of the much-talked about film revealed that it will be none other than Manju Warrier.

Kamal put an end to the much-awaited suspense by announcing Tuesday that the come-back actress will play the role of late Malayalam litterateur Madhavikkutty in her biographical movie.

The first schedule of the film’s shooting will begin in March.

Manju Warrier, one of the all-time best heroines in Malayalam cinema, committed to act in the bio pic just three days ago, Kamal said.

Many names, including that of Parvathi Jayaram and Parvathi, popped up after the controversial drop out of Vidya Balan from the lead role.

The film will be shot in locations in Ottappalam, Kolkkatta, and Mumbai.

The first part will see Madhavikkutty at the current age of Manju Warrier. And Manju will be seen in the late author’s middle-aged life.

Kamal has picked a newcomer for teenaged Madhavikkutty.

There is no other change in the cast and the crew.

Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar is composing music for Aami.

Madhu Neelakandan will stand behind camera.

Prithviraj, Anup Menon, and Murali Gopi are the main actors.

This will be the first Kamal film in which Manju Warrier appears as heroine after ‘Krishnagudiyil Oru Pranayakaalath’.
