India all out for 105 in reply to Aussies 260

Pune | Australian Spinners Nathan Lyon and Steve Okeefe ripped through India’s middle order, pushing the hosts to a catastrophic 105 all out in first innings on the second day of the first cricket Test, here today.

India was on back foot right from the beginning in reply to Australia’s first innings score of260 losing three quick wickets for just 44 runs.
India lost Murali Vijay (10), Cheteshwar Pujara (6) and Captain Virat Kohli (0) in deadly spells by Mitchel Starc and Josh Hazlewood.

Opener Lokesh Rahul’s (64) fight in the company of Ajinkya Rahane (13) for the fourth wicket ended at Indian score reading 94 as Okeefe broke the 50-run partnership.

The remaining batsmen surrendered like a pack of cards under spin pressure.

Steeve Okeefe returned with a deadly figure of 6 wickets for just 35 runs.

Earlier in the morning, the visitors were bowled out for 260 in their first innings. Mitchell Starc (61) was the last batsman out, caught in the bowling of Ashwin after adding just one run to the overnight score.
